Amaretto is simply "Amaretto". It's an almond based preparation, which also includes some egg whites and grinded apricot bone that gives a light bitter taste to the biscuit (amaro in Italian mean "bitter"). As of June 22nd, 2014 the vineyards landscape of Piedmont, in Italy, has been included in the Unesco World Heritage List. It took almost 10 years from the very first initiative to the declaration of inclusion as well as several visits by the Unesco Committee. The area was in fact pretty large and never before such an extensive territory was nominated.
In 1949 the city of Venice hosted an impressive exhibition about the late Renaissant painter Giovanni Bellini. To honour such a big personality the owner of the famous Harry’s Bar of Venice named Giuseppe Cipriani, created a new cocktail aiming at reproducing the sweet pastel shades of the painter’s palette.
